Kew Gardens : Botanical Printing Intensive

Meet Me at The Kew:

A Two-Day Botanical Textile & Cyanotype Experience in London

Join Simone for an intimate two-day botanical textile experience inspired by the gardens, plants, colors, textures, and natural forms of Kew.

Day One — Botanical Exploration at Kew Gardens:
We’ll meet at
Kew Gardens for a day of botanical exploration and creative inspiration. Together, we’ll walk through the gardens, observe plant forms, textures, colors, and patterns, and gather inspiration for the textile work we’ll create the following day. You’ll learn to look at the botanical world through a textile artist’s eye while experiencing one of London’s most beautiful botanical spaces.

Day Two —Cyanotype Printing Workshop
We’ll take the inspiration gathered at Kew and transform it into
botanical cyanotype prints. You’ll be introduced to the cyanotype process, an historic photographic printing technique that uses light-sensitive materials and sunlight to create beautiful blue-and-white botanical impressions.

You’ll learn how to arrange botanical elements, expose your composition to sunlight, develop your print, and experiment with layering and composition to create your own unique textile artwork.

No previous experience is required—just curiosity and a love of nature, art, and making.
